2006 - 2007

  • Animal cruelty Awareness programs: The trust continually involved  in   Animal cruelty awareness campaigns  and Cow rescue programs throughout tamilnadu. Actively conducted rescue operations in coalition with Blue Cross of India, Chennai.

  • Formed “PAYASVATI” Goshala which engages in Rescue, adoption, Maintenance, treatment of Cows, Bulls and Calves that have been deserted, orphaned, injures, or abandoned by various sections of the society.

Adopted an initial count of 20 abandoned and stray cattle

Conducted of an International Cow Conference seminar at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha,T Nagar, to promote satisfactory treatment of Cows and Bulls and  to bring about awareness of cattle ill-treatment and reduce cruelty. It was the first of its kind seminar to internationally discuss issues on cow cruelty wherein a common platform was created bringing in people from all facets:  Senior officers from Tamilnadu  Animal Husba ndry Board, NGOs, Farmers, Researchers and Environmentalists, International Animal Welfare Campaigners, Pontiffs and Saints and other cow worshippers, Grass root level workers, think tanks and evangelists and media people.

  • Actively involved in cattle treatement and free vaccination campaigns along with the  kancheepuram animal husbandry department benefitting many hundreds of cattle in rural areas of kancheepuram

2007-2008

  • Conducted Medical camp at Maduramangalam near Sripermbundur to promote awareness on diabetes Hypertension, dental hygiene and ophthalmic care. The program was assisted by a plethora of well qualified doctors, medical practitioners and assistants. About 273 villagers were benefitted. Free medicines and spectacles were distributed. Awareness on hygiene and cleanliness was also created.

PAYASVATI Goshala’s population had increased by 65 Bulls and Cows, 5 Dogs and 40 Birds. All animals were medically tested to be in perfect health and maintained well by an in-house doctors and assistants.Managing Trustee Mrs. Vidyaa Shankar had rescued the umblachery cows from the Government auction house at Thiruvarur. This native Tamilnadu breed of cows are known for their soft skin and is a favourite among the tannery and leather manufacturers. The auction was opposed by the trust and an order from the Hon’ble High Court of India was obtained upholding further auctioning of the cows as they fall under the “native breed close to endangerment”. Further the judgment, Umblacherry Panchayat was allotted 107 acres of land by Government of Tamilnadu for breeding and development of the species.

  • Another Medical camp was conducted Maduramangalam village where the importance of blood donation was explained to the villagers. It was again assisted by team of doctors and medical supervisors.Teams from blood banks from Chennai were involved and awareness and importance of blood donation was promoted.

2008-2009

  • The trust had further rescued Bulls, Cow and Calves and now the population of Payasvati Goshala had grown to 89 calves, 5 dogs and 68 birds.
  • The trust participated in the Krishnaa Jayanthi celebrations of Sri Narayana Mission senior secondary school, Nandanam, Chennai. Krishna and cow was the theme of the program.Empathy towards animals was inculcated in the young minds. Awards were distributed to members in various contests held.
  • All umblachery cattle from the second year auction at the house were rescued and donated to a goshala near Kumbakonam(already mentioned above). All animals were found to be healthy.

2009-2010

  • Payavathi Goshalas strength has now grown to around 100 cattle. All animals were bond to be healthy. The infrastructure of the goshala was segmented and clinical diagnosis room, delivery and post-operation recuperation rooms were constructed.

 

  • A gobar (cow dung) gas plant was constructed to create an eco friendly environment.
  • Green fodder cultivation and grazing grounds for the cattle was augmented to create a holistic eco friendly model.
  • Provided food supplies to Amma Illam,Mylapore, a shelter for old and abandoned people. Also provided essentials like clothing and medicines for the inmates
  • Financial assistance towards fodder purchase for a similar goshala owned by Dr.Sadhana Rao to the tune of Rs.1, 00,000/-(one lakh) was given. The trust owns over 50,000 cattle all rescued from gruesome accidents and provides intensive treatment and provides free round the clock ambulance service for all animals.
  • Offered Rs. 25,000/- towards annadhana to Srimadh Parahala Ramanuja kootam , Alwar thirunagari on the occasion of temple festivities poor feeding

2010-2011

  • Identified and supported around 60 children through Annai Illam charitable trust. The orphanage housed children from various sects, classes and religious and offers a healthy and safe environment for children to study and grow into committed and socially aware citizens of the country. Support in terms of food essentials, clothings, books and education materials were provided monthly throughout the year
  • Financial assistance was given to “Elevan Garuda Seva Committee” for Annadhana of villagers during a temple festival.
  • Gave financial assistance to a registered charitable trust in Avadi Chennai, Surabhi trust for medical aid of orphaned cows and bulls during an outbreak of an epidemic. Close to 1000 cattle were benefitted
  • Provide financial assistance to some deserving students at Chennai towards.

  3. c) Provided bus pass and conveyance expenses on annual basis for the above students.

2011-2012

  • Planted 1, 00,000 tree saplings on the Chennai-Thirupati highway in coalition with Thirunindravur Alwar trust.
  • Sponsored annual school fees for deserving students for education –SRM matriculation school, Narayanaa mission school, Nightingale matriculation school.
  • Scholarship for engineering college to deserving students SSKV engineering college and SPSKC College of engineering.
  • The rescue operation of cattle kept growing and the present population of payasvati to 100 cattle 5 dogs and 75 birds.
  • Provide Rice, dhal and other food supplies to Annai Illam charitable trust, Kolathur on a daily basis for 60 orphaned children.
  • Financial assistance was given to “Elevan Garuda Seva Committee” for Annadhana of villagers during a temple festival.

2012-2013

  • Provided scholarship to 20 deserving children studying in   Also provide annual funds towards their transport charges.
  • Provided scholarship for 2 deserving students at SSKV engineering college and SPSKC College of engineering.
  • The maintenance and administration at Payasvathi Goshala was conducted.
  • Provided food supplies to Annai Illam Charitable trust, Kolathur on a daily basis for 60 orphaned children. Also provide school uniform, bags, lunch bags and study materials and stationary on an annual basis.

  • Sponsored for medical equipments used for eye treatment to Navajeevan Blind relief centre,Tirupati.

2013-2014

  • Maintenance and administration at Payasvati Goshala conducted.
  • Provided food supplies to Annai Illam Charitable trust, Kolathur on a daily basis for 60 orphaned children. Also provide school uniform, bags, lunch bags and study materials and stationary on an annual basis.
  • Provided scholarship to 2 children studying in Nightingale Matriculation School. Also provide annual funds towards their transport charges.
  • Provided scholarship for 2 deserving students at SSKV engineering college and SPSKC College of engineering.

  • Gobar gas plant for green sustenance of Payasvati Ghoshala.

  • Provided scholarships to Nightingale Matriculation students and SSKV Engineering college of SPSKc village.
  • Part took in number of Annadhanas near and around at various places including Srirangam, and Kancheepuram.
  • Financial assistance was given to “Elevan Garuda Seva Committee” for Annadhana of villagers during a temple festival.
  • Provided packed food supplies to more than 10,000 people stuck in the severe Chennai rain and floods
  • Rescued many cattle from floods and provided alternate shelter arrangements in coalition with similar NGOs
  • Provided blankets, medicines,daily essentials, clothes to nearly 2500 people who went homeless in the Chennai floods, costing to the tune of nearly Rs.5,00,000

2015-2016

  • Replenished and refurbished all sheds in Payavati Ghosala.
  • Provided infrastructure help to deserving villagers, who had lost their homes in the Chennai floods near kelambakkam
  • Continued financial assistance to Annai charitable Illam Kolathur.
  • Continued financial assistance to students of Nightingale Matriculation School and 2 students from an Engineering college located at chennai.
  • Sri Daya Trust involved a conglomerate of 600 students themed “Talent & Delight : The spirit of Krishna Jayanthi Students from over 15 schools from all over the city participated in various events held like painting ,drawing , singing (Solo and Group), Dancing (Solo and Group), Poetry, Essay writing, Craft, Mono Acting, and sloga reciting children between the age group of 6 and 15 took part and prices and awards including consolation prize for all the participants.
  • Provided study materials in terms of note books and writing materials to needy students in Tamilnadu in association with Udavum Ullangal,Vellore.

2016-2017

  • Sri Dayaa Trust was engaged in the production of first time in the world documentary on NGOs, Screening extra- ordinary service of Sub-Ordinary NGOs, The documentary run to 3 hours and 15 minutes and showcases the beneficiaries, donors ,associates and the real people behind the NGOs working for the cause.
  • Through Payasvati Goshala, the trust embarked in the adoption and development of Native Indian breeds like Gir,Tharparkar,Sindhu, Punganoor kuttai, Vechur and the likes.
  • Provided food materials to 20 inmates of Sri Saraswatiammal Charitable Trust, old age home at Chennai the entire year
  • Provided financial assistance to deserving 20 students for primary,secondary and college education.

  • The vardah cyclone that hit Chennai in December 2016 had caused heavy damage to many buildings. Provided  shelter assistance to homeless villagers near vichur and thaiyur villages

  • Launched innovative hospital bed at Egmore Children Hospital on 29-07-2017. It is the first of its kind bed developed by Shri. S.Shankar, trustee, to provide support to bed ridden immobile patients. The initial model of bed was donated to an old age home near vellore. Plans are underway to supply more such beds to Government hospitals. The bed is an export substitute, aimed at providing superior comfort at a lower  cost of nearly 200%. At the moment such models are being imported from USA.
  • Refurbished all beds at the pediatric Cancer wing of Egmore Childrens hospital, Chennai

2018-2019

  • Conducted   number of programs in association with TLV Trust, in view of promoting better social awareness among the members of the society. In this context, free marriages were conducted for the blind and disabled couples.
  • Free seminar and workshops were conducted for promoting financial sustainability among blind destitute women, through development of cottage industries and skill development.
  • Associated with Sri Padmavathy Old age,Mangadu home and conducted free medical treatment to all the 100 inmates. Also completed free cataract eye operations to more than 10 needy inmates of the old age home. In this context, our heartfelt thanks to Dr.Vijay Shankar (Opthalmologist, Shankar Eye care,RA puram,Chennai), who collaborated with us very well.

2019-2020

  • In the month of January, Successfully conducted a 100% ayurvedic medical camp for the inmates of Shri Padmavathy Oldage home and sponsored IMPCOPS medicines for all of them in association with Sri Lalith pharmacy,Mylapore (Dr. Kannan). Also sponsored garments and everyday  essentials for the inmates.
  • Sponsored Homeopathic Drug (Arsenic Album 30) as COVID preventive to Tamilnadu Police Department,Chennai, income tax department,Coimbatore, and many housing colonies in Royapuram, nochikuppam,Pulianthope, and visalakshi thottam. This was done after legal clearance from the government and we are happy to say, that we were one of the very few NGOs approved for distribution of the said medicine from Department of Ayush,Ministry of health,GOI,Delhi.
  • Sponsored oxygen generator to the tune of Rupees One lacs to Renuga Nursing Home, to help the needy patients during Covid Times.

2020-2021

  • During the lockdown, EVERYDAY supplied 100 foodpackets of sambhar rice and biriyani to beggars, street urchins and the needy, who suffered from famine and hunger. We would like to sincerely thank M/S. Krishnarpanam ( a unit of Malola Vasupradha) who cooked and packed the meals every day.
  • The distribution was done solely by the core employees of sri dayaa trust everyday.
  • Ms.Aishwarya Shankar, during the lockdown, met Shri A.Natraj,MLA mylapore, to personally explain the hazards of locking the public lavatories during lockdown and explained the pathetic sititaion of the beggars and street urchins. Subsequently, with due representation, the Government of tamilnadu was kind enough to open the public conveniences and steps were taken ton sanitise them adequately.
  • She was also honoured as one of the best working NGOS in Chennai at his office
  • Established Opulent Health care( Registration Number:  CHENALL20210030920  ) at their headquarters at mylapore. This is five bedded fully functional nursing home equipped with medical care and emergency devices including dialysis  and semi critical care facilities and Oxygen monitoring.

2021-2022

  • Sponsored mobile phones, sim cards and data plans to students who wanted to pursue education through online mode.
  • Also sponsored books and stationary items to deserving students at Tirupati, through associate NGOs.
  • Upgraded and expanded infrastructure at Payasvathi Goshala

2022-2023

  • Introduced solar panels and other green energy devices at payasvathy goshala.
  • Green energy initiatives and organic cultivation practises and drives  in association with like minded organisations are underway.
